Senator Pearce moved and asked unanimous consent for the adoption of the Finance Committee Substitute offered on page 1784. Senator Duncan objected, then withdrew his objection. There being no further objections, CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 99(FIN) was adopted. CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 99(FIN) was read the second time. Senator Miller offered Amendment No. 1 : Page 1, line 5, after "standards fees,": Insert "moving expenses for legislators," Page 14, after line 23: Insert a new bill section to read: "* Sec. 50. AS 24.10.130 is repealed and reenacted to read: Sec. 24.10.130. MOVING EXPENSES. (a) A member of the legislature is entitled to reimbursement for the expenses of moving between the member's place of residence and the capital city for the purpose of attending a regular session of the legislature. (b) The Alaska Legislative Council shall adopt a policy regarding reimbursement for moving expenses applicable to all legislators. The policy must set conditions for the receipt of reimbursement for moving expenses and amounts of reimbursement adapted to the special needs of the legislative branch as determined by the council."
